Junior Golf Event Held at Tanglewood
The nations premiere junior golf association (AJGA) held the AccuSport Championship, hosted by Webb Simpson, on Tanglewood’s Championship course August 16-19. The field featured 90 players, between the ages of 12-18, from 16 states, Italy and South Africa. The boy’s division was won by Chad Cox of Charlotte, N.C. who fired a 1-under-par total of 205. Andrea Unson from Murieta, California shot a 3 day total of 215 to win the girls division.
Webb Simpson, former Wake Forest star, was on hand Monday. Webb, who participated in AJGA events as a junior, talked and answered questions about his experiences as a junior golfer and his current life as a PGA Tour player. Richard Petty also came out to sign autographs and greet the competitors. The AccuSport staff was here throughout the week giving players the opportunity to use their launch monitor technology to improve their performance.
