Championship Course One of State’s Best
Business North Carolina has ranked Tanglewood Park’s Championship Golf Course as one of North Carolina’s top 100 golf courses. In North Carolina, the Championship Course was ranked at #51. When broken out into regions, the Championship ranked #9 in the Triad. Also, in the triad area, the Championship Course, ranked #4 in difficulty and #2 in value.
The Championship course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, was the site of the 1974 PGA Championship. Many of the players who competed that year returned to play in the Vantage Championship, one of the richest events on the Senior PGA Tour.
